Angelina Safford Charities, Inc.

Angelina Safford Charities, Inc. was founded in January 2009. Based in Tarrant County, Texas we are a Non-Profit Texas Corporation that raises funds to benefit children in North Texas who need additional treatment or equipment that insurance or Medicaid do not provide for. Therapies like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy are not covered services because they are elective types of treatment. Additionally, a special needs child receives equipment approved by insurance and/or Medicaid that is medically necessary but may not be eligible for other pieces of equipment that provide the same "service". A wheelchair and a floor sitter are considered the same "service" because they both provide for sitting. While the wheelchair provides for mobile sitting, a floor sitter allows a child to be more independent on the floor furthering development. Also, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are the best opportunity to ensure that a child with CP is learning and adapting the best that child can. Usually insurance will only cover so many visits per year.

We are a young foundation and our overall goal is to raise funds to provide these types of therapies and additional equipment for children in need.

Angelina Safford's journey is the inspiration for these efforts. Angelina Safford Charities, Inc. is passionate and dedicated to helping special needs children be the very best they can be!

Angelina Safford Charities, Inc. is not a 501(c)3 tax exempt entity. The IRS would allow only 10% of the annual proceeds to be granted per receipient and at this time that small of a grant would not cover the cost of these types of alternative therapies or equipment purchases. We plan to try at a time in the future when our donations are greater!
